Store-bought smart lights are boring. They do not understand your mood. That is why I took an ESP32 chip and a regular DC lamp, and built my own WiFi controller to change the light colors.
The Three Modes
I programmed the lamp to match my daily mental states:
- Warm Light: The peaceful mode. I use this to pretend I have my life together while drinking tea.
- Cold Light: The "Interrogation Room" mode. It is a blinding white light reserved for late-night panic sessions when my project code refuses to work.
- Mixed Light: The confused mode. For when I cannot make a simple decision, so I just choose both temperatures at once.
Conclusion
Why buy a cheap smart bulb when you can spend days wiring chips and coding just to turn off a light from your phone? It works perfectly, and I am never standing up to flip a switch again.
